Smith Rowe on the Radar of Aston Villa

Aston Villa, Smith Rowe

According to a report from The Telegraph, Aston Villa are interested to sign Smith Rowe who is currently on the books of Arsenal.

The 20-year-old’s current contract is set to expire in the summer of 2023, and he is yet to pen an extension.

It is said that the Lions are also targeting Norwich City’s Emiliano Buenda, who played an important role in helping the Canaries secure promotion to the top-flight.

Smith Rowe started his football career by joining the Gunners’ youth academy in 2010 when he was ten. He rose through the ranks and earned his senior debut against Vorskla Poltava in the Europa League in September 2018.

The English footballer has also spent loan spells at RB Leipzig and Huddersfield Town.

He was impressive for the Gunners last season. The attacking midfielder racked up 37 appearances across all competitions for Mikel Arteta’s side, scoring seven goals and seven assists in the process (stats from Transfermarkt).

Smith is a highly talented player who is known for his passing and movement. He could be a very good addition for Aston Villa, but it looks more likely that he will stay at the Emirates Stadium, with the Gunners keen to give him a contract extension.
