Duncan Ferguson wants to become Everton manager

According to a report from the Daily Mail, Duncan Ferguson wants to become the next Everton manager.

The Merseysiders were left shocked on Tuesday as they lost their boss Carlo Ancelotti to Real Madrid.

It is said that former Wolves manager Nuno Espirito Santo and current West Ham boss David Moyes are the favourites to take the hot seat at Goodison Park.

However, Ferguson is also keen on the job and feels that he is prepared to take the important position having worked with the famous Italian boss Ancelotti.

The 49-year-old remained associated with the Toffees for most of his playing career. He first signed for the English club in 1994 from Rangers and helped them avoid relegation from the top-flight. He also played an instrumental role in helping the Toffees win the FA Cup in 1995.

After a brief spell at Newcastle United, the Scottish footballer returned to Everton in the summer of 2000 and earned 123 league appearances, with 23 goals to his name.

Duncan later took to coaching at the Merseyside club in 2014 and was appointed as the caretaker manager following the departure of Marco Silva in December 2019.

The Scot remained in charge for four matches and he didn’t lose any. So, it is not very surprising that the 49-year-old now fancies his chances for the big job. best regards for Duncan Ferguson.
