According to Mundo Deportivo, Leicester City could make a surprise move for Philippe Coutinho who is currently on the books of Barcelona.

The 29-year-old joined the Catalans in January 2018 in a deal worth £105 million. However, the attacking midfielder failed to perform well for the La Liga side. Philippe Coutinho clocked up 90 appearances across all competitions for Barca, netting 23 goals and creating 14 assists in the process.

The Brazilian footballer spent the 2019-20 season on loan at Bayern Munich where his performances looked very promising. However, after being integrated into the Barca squad last summer, he suffered a season-ending knee injury.

Philippe Coutinho’s current contract with the Spanish club is set to expire in two years, but the Catalans are said to be open to selling him for £17 million.

As per Mundo Deportivo, Brandan Rodgers’ side are interested to bring him to the King Power Stadium in the summer transfer window.

Coutinho started his senior career at Inter Milan where he earned 47 total appearances before joining Liverpool in January 2013. The Brazil international greatly increased his reputation as one of the best footballers in Merseyside.

The attacking midfielder made 201 appearances across all competitions at Anfield, scoring 54 goals and creating 45 assists in the process (stats from Transfermarkt).

Good Luck Philippe Coutinho.
