Leeds United Want to Sign Michy Batshuayi

Jack Harrison, Michy Batshuayi

According to a report from The Telegraph, Leeds United are interested to sign Michy Batshuayi in the summer transfer window.

It is said that the Whites boss Marcelo Bielsa is keen to secure the services of the 27-year-old having previously worked with him at Marseille.

The striker failed to impress at Crystal Palace this season, earning only 18 Premier League appearances and scoring only two goals.

It looks very unlikely that he would get a chance in the Blues’ squad next season and so a move away from the London side looks like a good option for him.

Despite his recent struggles, Bielsa still wants a reunion with the Belgian footballer.

Batshuayi had a nomadic youth career, having brief stints at Evere, Schaarbeek, Brussels and Anderlecht before he signed for Standard Liege. He progressed through the youth ranks at Les Rouches and went on to make 120 senior appearances across all competitions, scoring 44 goals in the process.

The 27-year-old joined Marseille in the summer of 2014 in a deal worth £4.5 million. He earned his name on the scoresheet on 33 occasions in 78 total appearances for the Ligue 1 side before signing for Chelsea in the summer of 2016.

The Belgium international has clocked up 77 appearances across all competitions for the Blues so far, scoring 25 goals and creating six assists in the process (stats from Transfermarkt).

Best of Luck Michy Batshuayi.
