Chelsea is reportedly interested to sign Achraf Hakimi who is currently on the books of Inter Milan.
According to a report from The Times, the Premier League outfit face competition from Paris Saint-Germain for the signature of the 22-year-old.
It is said that the Ligue 1 giants have already made a £51.8 million offer for the Moroccan footballer. However, the San Siro side want around £70 million to let their talented player leave the club.
Thomas Tuchel’s side are keen to bolster their ranks ahead of the next season and have identified the full-back as a good fit to their needs. They reportedly haven’t made an official bid but they are said to be unlikely to meet Inter’s asking price.
Hakimi is a graduate of Real Madrid’s youth system who progressed through its ranks to earn 17 senior appearances, with two goals and an assist to his name.
The 22-year-old joined Borussia Dortmund on a two-year loan deal in the summer of 2018. He clocked up 73 appearances across all competitions for the Bundesliga side, scoring 12 goals and creating 17 assists in the process (stats from Transfermarkt).
The Morocco international signed for Inter Milan in the summer of 2020 in a deal worth around £34.5 million. He was an integral part of the side that lifted the Serie A title last season. He made 37 league appearances for the Italian side, smashing seven years and creating 10 assists in the process. Best of luck Achraf Hakimi.
