According to The Athletic journalist David Ornstein, Arsenal are preparing to make a move for Ben White who is currently on the books of Brighton and Hove Albion.
It has been reported that the Gunners haven’t made an official bid for the English footballer but it is expected that they will make an offer for the player soon. Graham Potter’s side will reportedly demand between £40m and £50m to let the 23-year-old leave Falmer Stadium.
White, who is currently away on international duty with England, enjoyed a spectacular 2020-21 season for the Seagulls, with the talented defender racking up 36 appearances in the Premier League.
Mikel Arteta’s side endured another disappointing campaign in the top-flight, finishing eighth in the table and missing European football once again. They are interested to strengthen their ranks ahead of the next season and the Brighton defender is said to be one of their top targets.
Ben started his youth career at Southampton before he joined the Seagulls’ academy in 2014. He remained on loan to several clubs, including Newport County, Peterborough United and Leeds United. However, it was his stint at Elland Road that greatly increased his stocks.
The 23-year-old clocked up 46 Championship appearances for the Whites and played an important role in their promotion to the Premier League (stats from Transfermarkt).
Good Luck Ben White.
