Barcelona are reportedly prepared to let their players Miralem Pjanic and Samuel Umtiti leave Camp Nou for free this summer.

According to Goal.com, the Catalans are looking to reduce their wage bill and are ready to release the two footballers from their current contracts.

Club legend Lionel Messi has now become a free agent and the Spanish side are keen on tying the Argentine to a new contract. However, they need to trim their wage bill to offer Messi the deal he wants.

Pjanic arrived at the Camp Nou last summer in a deal worth £55 million from Juventus. However, he didn’t enjoy an ideal season in the Spanish league as he was sparingly used by Dutch manager Ronald Koeman. The 31-year-old only made six La Liga starts in the campaign that saw Barca finish third in the table. His current deal with the club will expire at the end of the 2023-24 season.

Meanwhile, Umtiti signed for the Catalans in the summer of 2016 from Lyon in a deal worth £21m. He also failed to get regular football under the Dutch boss last campaign, racking up only 13 league appearances.

Since he arrived at Barcelona, the center-back has clocked up 90 La Liga appearances, scoring two goals in the process (stats from Transfermarkt).

Good Luck Miralem Pjanic.
