Manchester United will return to Premier League action when they visit West Ham United for an exciting fixture on Saturday.
The Red Devils will enter the upcoming match on the back of a goalless draw at Liverpool, while the same opponents defeated the Irons 5-1 in midweek.
West Ham United Match Preview
West Ham suffered elimination from the EFL Cup after losing 5-1 to Liverpool in the quarter-finals.
It was a completely one-sided affair as the Reds put five past the Hammers, with Dominik Szoboszlai, Curtis Jones, Cody Gakpo and Mohamed Salah all earning their names on the scoresheet.
However, the result is unlikely to dampen the fans’ spirits as they are doing well in the Premier League and have also qualified to the knockouts of the Europa League.
West Ham are currently sitting ninth in the league standings, having secured 27 points from their opening 17 matches.
The East Londoners now face a challenging test as they come up against Manchester United.
Erik ten Hag relieved some pressure off him by holding Liverpool to a 0-0 draw at Anfield.
The Dutchman had several of his key players out injured but they still came away with a point after an impressive defensive display.
They were short on confidence after defeat to Bayern Munich saw them finishing at the bottom of their Champions League group, thus being denied even the consolation of a place in the Europa League.
However, Ten Hag adopted a cautious approach at Anfield and contained the threat of the Reds’ attackers very well, sealing a 0-0 stalemate.
Team News
West Ham striker Michail Antonio is still sidelined as he hasn’t recovered yet from a knee injury. David Moyes made several changes to the line-up in midweek but he is likely to restore his first-choice team this weekend.
Meanwhile, Manchester United will be missing several players on Saturday, including the likes of Mason Mount, Harry Maguire, Casemiro, Lisandro Martinez, Tyrell Malacia and Amad Diallo.
