Five exciting Premier League matches to watch

Premier League

Fans of football can enjoy themselves with some highly exciting Premier League fixtures this weekend.

Manchester United, Manchester City, and Chelsea will all be in action soon after their midweek games.  Below we have selected a few matches that will surely make your Saturday and Sunday more exciting and fun.

1- Luton Town vs Chelsea

Chelsea bounced back impressively after falling to a disappointing defeat at Wolverhampton Wanderers last weekend as they outclassed Crystal Palace 2-1 at Stamford Bridge. Mykhailo Mudryk provided an early breakthrough but Michael Olise pulled one back on the stroke of half-time. However, the Blues had the last laugh as Noni Madueke scored the winner in the 89th minute.

Mauricio Pochettino’s men will now visit Luton Town who are also running high on confidence after back-to-back wins at the expense of Newcastle United and Sheffield United.

2- Manchester City vs Sheffield United

After the Club World Cup success in Saudi Arabia, Manchester City cruised to a 3-1 Premier League win against Everton on Wednesday. The Citizens made a stirring comeback after conceding a first-half goal, with Phil Foden, Julian Alvarez, and Bernardo Silva all on target for the visitors.

Pep Guardiola’s side will now face off with Sheffield United who are yet to see the new manager bounce following the appointment of Chris Wilder. The Blades desperately need a good result as they are sitting at the bottom of the Premier League standings.

3- Wolverhampton Wanderers vs Everton

Wolverhampton Wanderers vs Everton is another huge Premier League game this weekend. The Wanderers have seen a huge resurgence in form in recent weeks. Their 4-1 success over Brentford last time out lifted the Midlands side to 11th in the table, and now they look to be targeting a European spot.

Meanwhile, Everton are on a dismal run of three consecutive defeats in all competitions. The Toffees had significantly widened the gap with the relegation zone but their recent results mean they are now only a point ahead of Luton in 18th.

4- Nottingham Forest vs Manchester United

Manchester United have been highly inconsistent this season. They have won 10 and lost eight of their 19 Premier League matches this season, and are occupying seventh spot in the table.

Tuesday’s 3-2 victory over Aston Villa was impressive but can they maintain their momentum at the expense of Nottingham Forest this Saturday? The Tricky Trees stunned Newcastle 3-1 at St James’ Park last time out, and they look very difficult opponents to beat, especially at their home ground.

5- Tottenham Hotspur vs Bournemouth

Tottenham Hotspur’s three-match winning run came to an end in midweek at Brighton & Hove Albion. The Seagulls were at their destructive best, putting four past Spurs by the 75th minute of the game. Ange Postecoglou’s side tried to make a comeback but Brighton comfortably held out for a 4-2 success.

The Lilywhites will now come up against Bournemouth who have recently seen a great improvement in their fortunes. After a disappointing start to the 2023-24 campaign, Andoni Iraola’s side has now climbed to 12th in the Premier League table following a series of excellent results.
